Twin Bonding

The transition to big kid beds thus far has been (knock on wood!) flawless. They have not gotten out of their beds even once, in fact, the entire nighttime routine seems to have gotten a bit easier.

Perhaps it is easier because of the way in which they now insist on sleeping. Aidan's bed has hardly been touched - they are insistent about sleeping together in Ella's bed.

Once they are tucked in, we listen on the monitor as they have long discussions about what they did that day and sing songs (primarily ABC's and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with the occasional shout out of Yo Gabba Gabba!). Quite literally, it is the only extended period in which they are together that some sort of disagreement doesn't occur.

As we head up the stairs at both naptime and bedtime, Ella and Aidan get so excited to be tucked in together that they make a mad dash for Ella's room and are into the bed and under the covers before I can even make it into the room!

I love this together time for them, and delight in the deepening of that unique twin connection.
