Beach Trip - Day 1 (Thursday)

We are back from our whirlwind vacation to Myrtle Beach for a few days.  It seems that as soon as you get settled into the room and routine, it is time to pack it all up and head home. Mike and I are exhausted - the kids, well, they are well rested and raring to go as usual!

We arrived at our hotel on Thursday afternoon at about 4 PM.  We were shocked to discover that we had been given a penthouse room on the 14th floor - not sure how we managed that luck, but we gladly obliged!  The view was stunning – both Ella and Aidan were in awe and loved standing at the huge windows gazing down at the ocean (or “big water” according to Aidan).

After a quick run to the grocery store, we decided to head down to the beach since the skies had finally cleared (somewhat).  I put the kids in pretty white outfits in hopes of getting "the perfect" beach photo.  Ha!  You know what they say about the best laid plans!

We were completely shocked to find that Aidan was very hesitant of the ocean. This was a complete turnaround from our last two trips! He wasn't terrified, just extremely cautious and would run away from the water as it came towards him yelling (but also lauging!)  "No, No!"....yet he always came back for more!

The poor thing kept falling down and within five minutes was completely soaking wet from head to toe.  By the time we headed back to the room, his clothes were all stretched out and waterlogged!

Ella, on the other hand, was in heaven.  She loved every second, and is truly our little water bug!

By far, the best picture of the entire trip:
