Ella and Aidan woke up Saturday morning to packed suitcases and Daddy coming home from work at 8:30 AM with a special bagel breakfast (their favorite special treat), complete with candles and singing Happy Birthday!
By 9:30 AM, we hit the road for Ocean Isle Beach!
Upon our arrival, the kids could not wait to get to the beach! Despite the heat, humidity and crazy winds, they were so excited and had a total blast tossing shells into the ocean waves.
We then headed up to the pool where Aidan insisted the water was too cold, but Ella and Daddy swam...and swam....and swam. I cannot say that I blame Aidan, I thought the water was chilly as well. He and I just sat on the steps and spent our time splashing each other. Ella, on the other hand, was not deterred by the water temperature in the least - she is so much like I was at this age - a water baby through and through!
Eventually we had to call it quits and made our way to the room to get cleaned up for dinner.
At dinner Ella and Aidan loved watching the boats come in and out of the channel. Aidan especially loved the "motorcycle boats" - i.e. jet skis!
Little did they know that we still had one fun surprise in store for them to wrap up their special day!
If you know Ella and Aidan at all then you know that their favorite things right now are Minnie Mouse and Buzz Lightyear. Heck, you don't even have to ever have met them to know that - you can just be a reader of this blog and know that little tidbit of information!
Anyway, what is a 3rd Birthday for Ella and Aidan without a special appearance from their favorite characters?
