Happy Halloween!

Despite both Ella and Aidan having colds, we managed to have a fantastic experience for their very first time trick or treating!

They both played outside (in their costumes) in the front yard while we waited for Mike to get home from work. I was worried that they would dislike their costumes as much as they did during our playdate earlier in the week...as it turned out, it was quite the opposite!

They LOVED their costumes!!

In fact, they loved them so much that they would not allow us to remove them for dinner...and so they ate dinner in costume!

After dinner we headed out to just a few houses to trick or treat. The night was a huge success!! They were so cute and had so much fun!!

Anniversary Trip to Ocean Isle

We took a little trip to Ocean Isle Beach for a few days over our anniversary weekend. Mike's parents joined us and we all had some good quality time together!

Five years ago today Michael and I became husband and wife.

January 2001:

We were brought together ("introduced") by these two sweet little dogs:

May 2002:

We took our first trip to Ocean Isle together for Memorial Day Weekend.

September 2002:

We got engaged!

October 2003:

We got married and honeymooned in Aruba!

July 2004:

We bought the house in which we planned to raise our future children.

October 2004:

We decided while on our 1st Anniversary trip to Ocean Isle that we were ready to begin trying for our first child:

October 2005:

We took a trip to Seattle and drove throughout the entire Olympic National Forest to "celebrate" one full year of testing, stress, heartache and tears with still no baby. We pondered the options our doctor had provided and decided to forge ahead with IVF.

September 2006:

After our devastating miscarriage in June 2006, we learn that we are pregnant again...and with QUADS (one set of fraternal twins and one set of identical twins)!

October 2006:

We learn that the identical twins hearts stopped beating at about 8 weeks and we are now 10 weeks pregnant with fraternal twins!

May 2007:

Three years after we began our journey, we simply could not be happier with our little miracles!

Aidan's First Haircut

While Opa and Grandpa Suzy were here this past weekend I asked Opa if he would cut Aidan's hair. The poor little guy's hair had gotten so long in front that he was beginning to have trouble seeing! I had been holding out for Opa....there was no way on earth I was going to let anyone but him have the honors of the first haircut!

Because I know that my Mother-in-Law will ask - don't worry, we didn't cut any of his curls (except one small one for me to put in his baby book). :)

Aidan was perfect...he just sat there quietly, as if he was wondering what all of the fuss was about (we were capturing it on video and taking pictures!).
