Santa!!

Yesterday morning we attended the CMOMS (Charlotte Mothers of Multiples) Holiday Social. There were 52 families with multiples in attendance and it was loads of fun! We got to see old friends and even made some new friends that we will start having play dates with in the new year!

We had been talking to Ella and Aidan about Santa for several days. They can say his name (Ella says “tata” and Aidan says “Caus”) and got very excited when we told them that they would get to see Santa that morning. Even as we arrived and they had a good 45 minutes to watch Santa up on the stage with all of the other children, they were still excited! As we stood in the short line waiting for our turn, they were still excited and nodding their heads in agreement about sitting on Santa’s lap.

Then, it was our turn.

And the excitement disappeared and was immediately replaced with tears.

Aidan burst into tears the minute he got a good up close look at Santa.

Ella at least walked up to Santa (still holding her bagel from brunch), but screamed in fear and dropped her bagel as soon as he reached out to pick her up and put her on his lap!

I now proudly present our 2008 picture with Santa!!

Oh well, there is always next year! Poor Santa – he was the only one smiling!

Aidan and His Picky Eating

This video gives a bit of insight into Aidan's approach towards eating (well, not necessarily eating...more of what we call "lip testing") anything that isnt a fruit. He does this with everything that we put in front of him that he doesn't immediately recognize as one of his "safety" foods.

These days, he even seems to think that there is something eerily suspicious about grilled cheese and his diet consists primarily of fruits, cheerios and animal crackers with the occassional chicken nugget, pancake, waffle, or sliver of veggie burger.
