The Great Pumpkin
In our household, food is not allowed at all outside of the kitchen or dining room......
...unless....
....we are having one of our every so often family traditions - a carpet picnic!
We pull out a blanket and enjoy our food picnic style. Typically, we do this on weekend mornings after Mike has been gone for countless days and nights at a time. But last night, we decided to have a pizza carpet picnic.
We gathered with our pizza....
....and enjoyed watching the classic "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown".
Good, old-fashioned family fun!

All in the Details
When it came down to it this year, there really was no question as to who Aidan wanted to be for Halloween. I wish I could bottle and keep forever the intense happiness that overcame my little man the minute he was all suited up for the first time. After meeting Buzz Lightyear in Disney World - what a dream come true to actually become the man himself!
As for Ella, she had a bit of a debate as to whether she wanted to be a princess or Jessie - for all of about 30 seconds. Once she saw the Jessie costume, the deal was done!
In the end, what amazed them both about their costume selections was the little details. The lasers, wings, etc. for Aidan and the pony tail, Jessie broach and fringe for Ella. They both noticed and marveled over every little last detail.
I love how thrilled they both are to be Buzz and Jessie - and am finding myself marvelling in the little details that this year's Halloween is bringing. For the first time, they are acutely aware of costumes, trick-or-treating, and all sorts of spooky things.
It is all happening way too fast and I MUST remember these moments and revel in the little details of my little ones.

Library and Preschool Halloween Fun!
We began this morning wth some costumed fun at our local library for their fall festival. Ella and Aidan had fun with many crafts and games, including their favorite - the ring toss....
...and then we gathered with a few friends before heading out to our next adventure of the morning!
Although we did not have school, we joined up with the rest of our class to partake in the annual Halloween parade and party.
We all gathered in our classoom....
....and then all of us parents left to wait outside to see our little ones in the parade!
I just had to crack up at Buzz Lightyear leading the way for our class!

Here Come the Leaves!
Finally - the leaves are begining to change and fall to the ground.
Perfect for playing in and tossing into the air!

Pumpkins + Pals = Playdate!
This morning we had several of our friends over for a fun little Halloween playdate!
The house was all decked out.....
....and the spooky food (witch fingers, rice krispie pumpkins, merainge ghosts, chocolate chip pupmkin bread, etc) were ready and waiting for all of the little ghosts and goblins to dig in!
We capped off our morning with a little pumpkin painting and playtime!
A spooky good time was had by all!
